On May 13, Furui Energy Service Co., Ltd. successfully commissioned its 100,000 Nm³/day LNG skid-mounted equipment in Aral, Xinjiang.
This set of equipment, which had previously completed the trial production and gas recovery task at the Heshen-6 Well in Hechuan, Chongqing, has now been redeployed to Aral after a journey of over 5,000 kilometers. The transportation spanned complex terrains such as the Qinling Mountains and the Hexi Corridor, taking nearly two weeks to arrive. Through modular disassembly, transportation, and rapid on-site reassembly, the equipment has been given a “brand-new” appearance for a fresh new start.
During this relocation, the equipment adopted a fully modular design. The core skid modules were transported using specialized flatbed trailers, requiring only pipeline connections and electrical commissioning on-site. This greatly reduced the installation time and fully demonstrated the technical advantages of skid-mounted solutions—easy relocation and efficient installation.
Notably, Furui Energy Service carried out a systematic upgrade and optimization of the equipment. By adopting the self-developed C3MR mixed refrigerant process, the natural gas liquefaction flow was optimized, resulting in a 15% increase in energy efficiency. Furthermore, the upgraded system is now capable of processing natural gas with methane content ranging from 60% to 99.9%, and is compatible with unconventional gas sources such as associated gas and coalbed methane.
The successful implementation of this project is a vivid example of Furui Energy Service’s commitment to sustainable development. Through equipment refurbishment and reuse, the service life of the system has been extended by more than five years, saving approximately 200 tons of steel and avoiding the carbon emissions that would have been generated by manufacturing new equipment. As the project leader stated:
“By upgrading the technology, we have given new life to the equipment — reducing costs for our clients while providing a replicable model for the low-carbon transformation of the energy industry.”
Currently, the equipment has been connected to nearby oil and gas field sources in Aral. It is expected to process 33 million cubic meters of natural gas annually, which can meet the yearly fuel demand of 500,000 LNG heavy-duty trucks in southern Xinjiang.
Looking ahead, Furui Energy Service will continue to focus on modular and intelligent technologies to enable efficient development of scattered gas resources and contribute to achieving the “dual carbon” goals.
